Michael Pinsker

Michael Pinsker

CEO & Founder

 

Michael is the CEO and founder of Docupace Technologies, LLC. He grew up in Kiev, Ukraine, where he studied math from a very young age. In 1991, when he immigrated to the US, he turned that talent in mathematics towards focusing on technology and software development. After graduating from UCLA with a Computer Science and Engineering degree, Mr. Pinsker founded MPDN International Inc, a consulting firm specializing in workflow, imaging and document management services. Through projects with clients as diverse as Datamax Technologies, Unisys, and Paramount Pictures, Scottsdale Insurance, New York Department of Insurance and others, Michael implemented and validated different workflow solutions and document management strategies. This background and expertise led him to found Docupace Technologies, LLC in 2002, focusing on bringing the workflow and document management platform in a SAAS (Software as a Service) model to various industries. Since 2005, Michael has led Docupace with the focus on the Financial Services Industry. He co-invented the ePACS, a patent pending SAAS offering for Financial Services that has become the leading SEC and FINRA compliant straight through processing platform for the industry.

While perfecting his entrepreneurial skills through being on the boards of various startup and not for profit organizations, Michael continued to enhance his technical knowledge to complement his Microsoft and Cisco certifications. Michael has enhanced his skills in the cyber security space through obtaining certifications from the American Board of Certification in Homeland Security (ABCHS). He is also Sensitive Security Information Certified – (SII/DHS), Certified Information Assurance certified – (CIA/DHS), and holds the Cyber Warfare certification – (CW TTPs/DHS).

Tom is a principal of Docupace and a financial services cyber security expert. He co-invented Docupace’s core system, the ePACS Productivity Suite. Prior to joining Docupace, Tom held positions as President and COO of a $60 million publicly traded technology company; COO of a national investment banking firm; and SVP of the largest field marketing arm of a national insurance company. Tom brought to market the first SEC/FINRA compliant supervisory, introducing the industry’s first cloud-based SEC/FINRA compliant storage system that satisfies SEC rules. In each of these roles, Tom developed a strong background in information technology, cyber security and investment banking, allowing him to see first-hand the inefficiencies that are a typical part of the traditional financial services business.

Additionally, Tom is a member of InfraGard and has been awarded three certifications by the American Board of Certification in Homeland Security (ABCHS): Sensitive Security Information Certified – SII/DHS, Certified Information Assurance – CIA/DHS, and Cyber Warfare Certification – CW TTPs/DHS. Tom is a member of the IRI Senior Steering Committee, on the eSignature task force and Cyber Security task force and is a member of the American Board of Certification in Homeland Security approved electronic document management and supervisory approval solution for the securities industry.

Ron Wallis brings to the Docupace team a 20+year track record of leading major software development initiatives. His skill set ranges from programming and conceptual design to project management and ongoing operations. Ron has demonstrated ability to deliver highly complex, scalable, enterprise class applications on-time and on-budget. It is this focus that helped drive the Docupace model to achieve the goal of developing a cost-effective solution that could be implemented and utilized by Broker-Dealers and RIAs of any size. Ron helps Docupace maintain a solution that has open architecture features and provides the most cost-effective pricing on the market.

Kevin Laraia joined Docupace Technologies in February 2014, bringing 20 years of Broker-Dealer executive leadership experience. As Chief Strategy Officer, Kevin leads Docupace’s “go to market” business teams, including Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Product Management. In addition, Kevin is leading Docupace’s Straight-Through Processing (STP) initiative, our platform that provides fully integrated document management and workflow, e-Signatures, e-Forms and e-check processing seamlessly from the advisor and client, to their BD and “straight thru” to the clearing firm, product provider and custodian. Prior to joining Docupace, Kevin was the Chief Operations Officer for Cetera Financial Group and the ING Advisors Network. Kevin is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and served six years as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force.

David Donell

David is the CFO at Docupace and throughout his career has both led and advised the corporate finance, banking and operations in a broad range of business ventures, from entrepreneurial to well established middle market companies. As a key strategic partner, David has participated in dozens of capital raising endeavors ranging from real estate syndication, venture capital equity and debt and social investments.

From 2007 to 2013, David was the Chief Financial Officer at the X PRIZE Foundation, a nonprofit whose mission is to cause radical change for the benefit of humanity utilizing a large prize model as a catalyst. While at X PRIZE, Donell oversaw the award of over $50 million in purse money, negotiated and closed over $60 million in Fortune 50 corporate sponsorships and facilitated $15 million in funding to the organization through the innovative use of private stock donations. He continues to be both an advisor and donor to the organization.

Prior to X PRIZE, David was the Chief Financial Officer for several technology related companies including Fasturn, Inc., a software platform used for sourcing and tracking international textiles manufacturing and Avega Health Systems, a software company specializing in decision support software for the healthcare industry.

John Paul Cunningham

John Paul Cunningham is a technology executive with deep expertise in technology governance, risk management and information security.

He brings 23 years’ experience delivering mission-critical solutions in Fortune 50 companies in the financial services and manufacturing sectors and 28 years’ experience overall delivering technology, risk, and security solutions.

A visionary in anticipating technology trends and innovation, he maintains a pragmatic solution-oriented approach and excels in tailoring technology to best address the needs of the enterprise in developing and executing strategies that protect the organization from cyber threats.

His ability to translate complex technical issues into plain understandable language enables him to collaborate effectively across the organization and with customers and external auditors and regulators alike, while leading the technical teams responsible for ongoing development and delivery of global services.

Mr. Cunningham has led Financial Services Peer Advisory forums of Chief Information Security Officers and been a featured panelist on several industry-wide financial technology forums and conferences. John is a retired federal (DOD) qualified law enforcement officer, a veteran of the Gulf War in Iraq and Kuwait, and holds both the CISSP and PMP professional certifications, as well as a variety of technical security certifications.

Joel Friedman

Joel Friedman supports field delivery through effectively managing large client implementations. Because the Docupace model is scalable to Broker-Dealers and RIAs of any size, Joel leverages his almost 12-years at Docupace to help tailor the solution model to each client. By doing this, he can ensure a level of ongoing support so that both home office and Representatives can see the immediate return on investment in addition to the benefits of using a straight-through processing system. Joel has a 15+ year background in document management and workflow solutions, and uses this expertise to get every Docupace client comfortable with the service quickly and painlessly. Prior to Docupace, Joel gained valuable corporate experience at Nortel Networks, DirecTV and Genesys/Alacatel.

Alan “G”, as he is known around the financial services industry, has over 30-years of senior sales and marketing management experience. Prior to joining the company, Alan held the positions of VP – Sales at Broadridge, National Brokerage Sales Sr. Director at E-Z Data and its successor‚ Ebix, VP Sales at Unger Software, and National Brokerage Sales Director for Financial Profiles. Prior to entering the technology sector in 2000, Alan enjoyed a diverse and successful 18-year career in financial services. He has worked in a variety of senior sales and marketing management positions for some of the industry’s leading firms: MetLife, Penn Mutual, Banner Life, and MONY. In these roles he was involved in some of the industry’s earliest efforts to deploy planning and practice management solutions. He has also authored several articles in industry journals on the subject of using technology to build a more successful practice.
